[Repost] Surakarta, April 25, 2026 — Students from the Psychology Professional Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) have once again made their mark with outstanding achievements at the 10th National Conference of Young Indonesian Psychology Researchers, held at UHAMKA from April 23–26, 2026.
During this scientific event, UMS students successfully won awards in several categories, including the “Research Impact” Award and 2nd Place for Best Article. These accolades serve as tangible proof of their concrete contribution to the development of research-based psychology.
The “Research Impact” Award was won by Ernawati (F107245014) and Raychana Robbi Rodhiyah (F107245039), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sri Lestari, S.Psi., M.Si., Psychologist. Their submitted work, titled “The Effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Reducing Social Anxiety in Students: A Single Case Study,” demonstrated the measurable effectiveness of CBT interventions in helping individuals manage social anxiety.
Meanwhile, 2nd Place for Best Article was awarded to Raychana Robbi Rodhiyah (F107245039), supervised by Susatyo Yuwono, S.Psi., M.Si., Psychologist, for her work titled “The Role of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in Reducing Fear-Avoidance Patterns in Post-Operative Patients.” This study highlights the importance of psychological interventions in supporting a comprehensive patient recovery process.
In addition to winning awards, UMS Professional Psychology students also participated as presenters at the conference. Aqmarina Dalili (F107245025) presented her work titled “Managing Anxiety in Post-Operative Patients with Left Hand Paralysis through Psychoeducation and Relaxation Techniques.” Devi Aprillia Permata Widi (F107245011) presented her research titled “Mindfulness to Reduce Pre-Operative Anxiety in Patients with Avascular Necrosis of the Right Femur Post Total Hip Replacement.”
Furthermore, Raychana Robbi Rodhiyah (F107245039) and Ernawati (F107245014) also served as presenters for their joint work titled “The Role of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in Managing Psychological Distress in Patients with Chronic Pain and Long-Term Sleep Medication Use.”
This active participation as presenters showcases the students’ ability to scientifically communicate their research findings and psychological interventions in a national forum.
Through these achievements, the UMS Psychology Professional Education Program continues to demonstrate its commitment to producing outstanding, competent graduates who are capable of making a real contribution to the advancement of psychology and the improvement of public psychological well-being.
