The Center for Islamic and Indigenous Psychology studies at the Faculty of Psychology was inaugurated by the Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, on October 21, 2011 under the name Center for Islamic and Indigenous Psychology (CIIP). At present CIIP has four research studios namely Family and character building, Gratitude and happiness, Behavior management (specifically regarding Discipline Behavior) and Social conformity (specifically about Manut Culture).

Vision:

Being the best center of study at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) and is recognized in Southeast Asia.

Mission:

  • strengthen the network of collaboration between faculty and students of UMS psychology faculty
  • Active and dynamic in academic activities and fostering an academic atmosphere
  • Increasing the productivity of lecturers and students in terms of research
